Improve the Maps

There are a lot of St. John’s locations that are instantly recognizable. Others are parts of the city that I’m just not that familiar with. Fortunately, there’s a whole internet to help keep these maps perfectly accurate.

If you’ve spotted a marker that you think should be moved, or one that should be added, there are four ways to help update the map.

  1. Make a comment on that episode’s page here on DoyleMaps. As soon as I can, I’ll edit the relevant map on Google Maps (or another enterprising fan will make the adjustments for us).
  2. Send an email to doylemaps [at] gmail [dot] com. If you do this, unless you advise me otherwise, I’ll just assume that for whatever reason, you want to improve the map, but don’t want your friends to know how you know what sleazy strip club Walter went to.
  3. If you’re feeling ambitious, and you want to adjust the map yourself, click the various links to go directly to those maps in Google Maps. You’ll need a free Google Account to do that, but it’s really not that hard to do. If you really shag things up, I have a master map to put things back again with.
  4. Finally, if you’re out and about and suddenly recognize a Republic of Doyle location, let the world know via Twitter. Use the #doylemaps hashtag, and just like a post comment, I’ll update the map ASAP. [You get bonus points if you add your location to the Tweet with a GPS phone.]

I’ve set the maps for each episode to be edited by anyone.  Just click the link in each episode’s post to go to Google Maps.  Feel free to edit and adjust as you like.  In the course of time, I plan to add some screenshots for tagged locations. If you’ve got something you want to add, fill your boots!  At least for now, though, please keep markers relevant to each specific episode.
